Smiggin Holes is a popular skiing resort located within the Snowy Mountains and offers skiing facilities for both beginner and advanced skiers and is virtually on our doorstep with a 150 metre walk..

Howevere if variety is important for you then you can easily access unquestionably the best ski resort in Australia from Smiggin Holes. There are 4 interconnecting ski fields with an amazing network of 48 lifts all on one lift ticket – Smiggins, Perisher, Blue Cow and Guthega.

Kosciuszko National Park Entry: You will be required to pay an entry fee for the National Park per vehicle per day, or alternatively you can purchase an Annual Pass per vehicle.
Note: 2WD vehicles must carry chains and National Park entry fees must be paid for all days your vehicle is inside the park (even if you’re not driving it).

The Lions Lair has only limited guest parking and is included in your nightly rate but we can only allow 1 car per booking with one space available for Disabled Assistance vehicles. When you are allocated a space a Parking Permit must be obtained from the Lodge Managers to display in the vehicle. Please note that any vehicles parked illegally will be booked by the Park Rangers and/or towed away for illegal overnight parking.

Driving

If driving to the Lions Lair Lodge from Sydney or Melbourne, please follow the directions below.

From Sydney:

Smiggin holes is located approximately 500kms south of Sydney. Once you pass through Jindabyne you then follow the Kosciuszko Road for around 30kms towards Perisher. Smiggin holes is located 2kms before Perisher on the right hand side. Exit towards Smiggin Holes and take the first right which is Pipers Lane and leads straight to Lions Lair Lodge.

From Melbourne:

Smiggin holes is located approximately 600kms North East of Melbourne. You will need to drive through Thredbo to Jindabyne on the Alpine Way and then turn left onto Kosciuszko Road and drive for 30kms towards Perisher. Smiggin holes is located 2kms before Perisher on the right hand side. Exit towards Smiggin Holes and take the first right which is Pipers Lane and leads straight to Lions Lair Lodge.
